A Letter to my District
Dear Friends of the Grand Isle/Chittenden House District,
I am writing to inform you that I will be seeking the Republican nomination for re-election to the House of Representatives in our District. As many of you know, I ran in 2018 and narrowly missed obtaining a seat in Montpelier for us. I did not let that stop me. I continued to meet and build relationships with many, many more of you in various venues. I have listened to your stories of your lives and your families and what you think is important to you in our great State. In 2020 I was able to build the trust of our voters and won a seat in the Vermont House. I wish to continue bringing balance to the state with me representing you in the 2022 election cycle.
I know many of you are watched what is has happened in Montpelier in the past couple of legislative sessions. It does not take much research to see that numerous bills are being sent to the floor at a fast and furious pace that reach deeply into your wallet and are staged to continue the attack on your individual rights as citizens. This is deeply concerning to me and I know it is concerning to you in the discussions that I’ve had with many of you. As a deeply rooted Vermonter I have watched our traditional values and way of life get threatened more and more each day. I wish to continue bringing common sense to Montpelier and make a difference and stop this erratic behavior and truly work on things that make a difference in our lives and make Vermont the vibrant state that it should and can be.
I am a retired military officer and have the time and energy to put forth to continue to do sensible things in Montpelier for all of us. At this stage in life I have no agenda to make this some sort of career or way to make a living. I simply want to serve to represent Vermonters in a commonsense way that keeps our communities vibrant and curb the current levels of outlandish spending. We must stop losing our youth to out of state opportunities and make Vermont once again, a business-friendly state where our children want to stay and raise their families. Sadly, my two children have left for economic reasons and I want that to stop for the rest of you!
I look forward to meeting more of you in the next several months!
Michael R. Morgan
